Sign up for 1 week of free swim lessons
11:30am-12:00pm weekdays starting June 17th
Fairfield-Fairfield Crest Swim Club is excited to offer a swim lesson program for members. This service is intended for children who are non-swimmers and need instruction and support to become comfortable in the water while building skills. Our goal is to help children develop a healthy relationship with the water in a fun environment.
Lessons are offered weekly and scheduled Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. On the first day of each session, children are grouped based on their skill level. Please arrive by 11:15 a.m.
Please note that these are group lessons, not 1:1. Staff availability for each session is based on capacity. You will be notified by email if we have reached capacity and are unable to accommodate a session for which you have registered.
Participants 24 months and older are eligible for lessons. The child must be independent enough to sit on the side of the pool without assistance and should be an independent walker. The program utilizes a “station model” which prepares children to move through the most basic water skills (e.g. water comfort, kicking & bobbing) towards independent swimming. Children should wear a bathing suit and bring a towel. Goggles are NOT required but are recommended. Parents are welcome to watch lessons although they must refrain from interrupting the instructors during lessons.
To ensure that appropriate staffing is maintained, children must be registered at least a week in advance. We are not able to accommodate last-minute sign-ups or unexpected participants. Please note: Swim Lessons are for non-swim team members.
Please submit one registration form per child. FFC Swim Club offers 1 session of free lessons. After 1 session, swim lessons are $25 per session. You will work directly with the lessons coordinator, Rachel Simione, regarding payment for sessions.

Level 1: Children will learn how to blow bubbles, go underwater comfortably, float on their back in the water, be comfortable in the water, and kick with a kickboard. Once they can complete all of those tasks with the approval of the instructor, they will move to the next level.
Level 2: Children will learn how to float on thier stomach, push off the wall and keep themselves afloat, and push off the wall and kick. The end goal of this levl is to be able to keep themselves afloat on both stomach and back.
Level 3: Children will learn basic freestyle, moving arms in circles on stomach and kicking, flipping onto back to breathe, pushing off the wall and start swimming freestyle, kicking on back and moving arms, swim width of the FFC Pool. Once they are able to swim the width of the FFC Pool (short side), they will move to the final level.
Level 4: Children will continue working on freestyle and backstroke, and will be able to tread water by themselves for 30 seconds. Once they can swim an entire lap of freestyle or backstroke (or both), they will have completed all lessons and be ready for swim team!
After completing all levels, we suggest that your swimmer either join swim team or you can arrange for private lessons.
Private lessons can help to further teach swimming skills and work on other specific skills that you feel your swimmer needs.
Private lessons can be done through anyone on the lifeguarding staff and/or any of the coaches.
Please connect with us through our contact form if you have any questions about swim lessons this year!
